"Itna Mehnat Kiya..." - Rohit Sharma's Funny Comment Lightens Mood Before South Africa Tests

Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, emphasized that winning the Test series against South Africa won’t completely ease the disappointment of the team’s loss in the Cricket World Cup 2023.

Rohit Sharma Lightens The Mood With His Funny Comment Before South Africa Tests

However, with his usual humor, Rohit mentioned that the team has put in a lot of effort in the past few months and feels they deserve success. When asked about how he felt after losing the World Cup final to Australia, Rohit said that all the players were eager to bounce back from that defeat.

“We have never won a Test series in South Africa and it’ll be a big thing if we do it here. I do not know whether it’ll be able to take away the pain of World Cup defeat. If we are able to achieve it then it’ll be a good thing. Itna Mehnat Kiya hai to kuch to chahiye humko,”

South Africa has proven to be a difficult challenge for the Indian cricket team, having never clinched a Test series victory on Proteas grounds. This puts extra pressure on Rohit Sharma and the team.

Rohit also acknowledged the continuous flow of cricket these days, emphasizing that players need to move forward. Reflecting on their performance, he mentioned, “The way we played, you expect to go an inch further. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do it. That was the hard part. You saw how we managed to play the 10 games.”

Rohit added: “We didn’t do certain things well in the final and that’s why we lost. It is hard but there’s so much happening in life, so much cricket, you’ve got to find the strength. It took me time to come out but you’ve got to move on,”

“We got a lot of encouragement from the outside world and that motivated me personally to get up,”
