IPL 2024: “Have Done Almost Everything…” – Rohit Sharma Made A Big Statement Ahead Of Playing Under Hardik Pandya

Young Mumbai Indians' Player Back Rohit Sharma As The Leader

India captain Rohit Sharma, who won’t lead Mumbai Indians for the first time since 2013, emphasized the need for preparation before the match against Gujarat Titans. Rohit returns to action after guiding India to a 4-1 Test series victory against England in Dharamshala.

There was a lot of controversy involving Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians head coach Mark Boucher, and the new captain Hardik Pandya regarding MI’s leadership. Rohit was replaced as captain after Pandya returned to the franchise in a trade deal with Gujarat Titans before the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai last December.

This move was made to ensure Mumbai’s long-term success, with coach Mark Boucher suggesting that Rohit Sharma may be nearing the end of his IPL career. Hence, Pandya was not only acquired as an all-rounder but also as the team’s captain. IPL 2024 holds significant importance for all centrally contracted Indian players, including Rohit, as they aim to perform well ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Rohit Sharma Made A Big Statement Ahead Of Playing Under Hardik Pandya

In a video shared on Mumbai Indians’ official social media account, Rohit Sharma discussed his rigorous training routines before matches, expressing confidence in his preparation. He mentioned some adjustments he hadn’t made in practice yet, but assured fans that he would be fully prepared for the upcoming match against Gujarat Titans.

In his latest interview with Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma said: “I think for me preparation has always been the key and gives me a lot of confidence going into any game. So yeah, there are a lot of things that I do before a game and I think I’ve done almost everything now, just a few things here and there, which is left and I will do it now and I’ll be ready for the game.”

Rohit Sharma also discussed the Mumbai Indians’ roster, emphasizing the talent among the younger and newly acquired players. He expressed confidence in their abilities, noting their recent performances in both international and domestic cricket. Rohit hoped that these players would make an immediate impact on the team. Rohit added:

“A lot of the players that we got from the auction a lot of new faces. Young players who have done well in domestic cricket and as well as in international cricket. So yeah, quite looking forward to that, hopefully they can make a mark right from the beginning.”
