There were some serious concerns regarding the health of batting maestro Virat Kohli after his wife Anushka Sharma posted about him batting ‘through sickness’ on Day 4 of the India vs Australia Test in Ahmedabad.
Was Virat Kohli Sick?
Well, it was shortly after Virat’s sensational knock of 186 runs came to an end, Anushka took to her social media and captioned her Instagram story: “Playing through sickness with his composure. After stumps, India all-rounder Axar Patel was also asked a question about Kohli’s health, to which he replied: “I don’t know. The way he was running between the wickets, it didn’t look like he was sick. In such hot weather, he forged a such a great partnership and ran so well. It was fun batting with him.”
Rohit Sharma Ended The Speculations
Meanwhile, the reports of Kohli being sick were a bit off considering he batted for more than 8 hours as he played a sensational knock of 186 runs and brought an end to his Test century drought after a long wait of three years. Also, he was always on the field, during the Australian innings as well.
The question regarding his health was also asked to captain Rohit Sharma shortly after the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 ended in a draw making India victorious with a 2-1 result. Responding to the question, Rohit ended the speculations once and for all. He said: “I don’t think he is sick; he was just coughing a little bit, but I don’t think it’s that bad health wise,”
Talking about his knock, Kohli ended his long wait of 3 years as he registered his 28th Test century. Kohli looked good to register a double century however, he eventually returned to the pavilion after scoring 186 runs off 364 balls, smashing 15 boundaries. Marnus Labuschagne caught him off Todd Murphy in the 179th over.
