In the ongoing T20I series between the Indian cricket team and New Zealand at the iconic Eden Gardens of Kolkata, the newly appointed full-time T20I skipper of India Rohit Sharma has created history by virtue of his impressive half-century.
As the game kickstarted, Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first. Rohit and Ishan Kishan opened the innings for team India. Rohit Sharma continued his brilliant form with the bat as he smashed his 26th T20 international half-century. Rohit played a stunning knock of 56 runs off 31 balls, smashing 5 fours and 3 sixes.
However, the star opener was dismissed by leg-spinner Ish Sodhi, who grabbed a one-handed stunner in his own bowling.
Meanwhile, playing a stunning knock for his side, Rohit added another feather to his already glorious hat as he overtook India Test and ODI captain Virat Kohli as the player with the most 50+ scores in T20I cricket.

Not just this, he achieved a massive milestone at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. During the game, Rohit became the first Indian batsman to hit 150 sixes in T20I games. Only New Zealand opener Martin Guptill has more sixes than Rohit Sharma in T20 internationals.
Rohit achieved this milestone in the sixth over of the first innings of India vs New Zealand. He smashed a stunning six to reach 150th six over fine=leg in Lockie Ferguson’s over. Martin had smashed 161 sixes in T20Is, while Rohit has smashed 150 sixes. West Indies’ explosive batter Chirs Gayle is at third place with 124 sixes.
