Rohit Sharma’s ‘Roger Federer’ Shot Off Kane Richardson: The second ODI between India and Australia is currently underway at the Saurashtra Cricket Association in Rajkot. India had lost the first match of the 3-match ODI series by 10 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai hence, the Men in Blue are under immense pressure to deliver the goods in the 2nd ODI. Australia had won the previous ODI series against India 3-2 thus, they will try to wrap up another series win tonight.

So far, the things have been good for Virat Kohli’s men as half-centuries from captain Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul have helped the team post a gigantic score of 340 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in the first innings. India have a very good record in defending scores of 325+ in 50-overs cricket hence, they are the favorites to win this match.

The reason why India are placed so comfortably to win this match is that the team targeted the right bowlers at the right time. Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins are the best bowlers of Australia hence, India refrained from attacking them in the initial stages.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan chose to go after the right-arm medium-fast bowler, Kane Richardson after the powerplay overs ended. Richardson tried to keep Rohit down with a short-pitched delivery in the 13th over of the match. However, Rohit thought one step ahead of the bowler and positioned himself to perfection to execute a tennis forehand type shot. This shot helped him score 4 runs.

Unfortunately, Sharma could not bat long as Adam Zampa dismissed him in the next over only. But, the entire stadium started chanting ‘Rohit! Rohit!’ when the right-handed batsman from Mumbai played that tennis forehand shot off Kane Richardson’s fast bowling.
