Ritika Sajdeh, the wife of India captain Rohit Sharma, reunited with their daughter Samaira after she left Chennai following India’s World Cup 2023 opening encounter against Australia.

Ritika Sajdeh was seen sitting alongside R Ashwin’s wife, Prithi Narayanan, in the stands at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk on Saturday when India defeated Australia by 6 wickets.

It seems that Ritika had left Samaira back at home in Mumbai to be with Rohit Sharma in Chennai. Now that the Indian team has flown to Delhi for the Afghanistan game on Wednesday, Ritika got the chance to spend some more time with her daughter.

She posted a cute picture of Samaira doing her homework, it seems from her Insta story.

She captioned the Insta story: “Back with my munchkin”.

Sunil Gavaskar dissects Rohit Sharma’s footwork in duck vs Australia

Rohit Sharma didn’t have a good game against Australia with the bat as he was dismissed for a 6-ball duck. An in-seamer from Josh Hazlewood rapped him on the pads and he was plumb lbw.

Former India skipper and legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar recalled how Rohit Sharma was in pristine touch during the 2019 World Cup when he hit 5 centuries in that tournament. Gavaskar made comments on Rohit’s footwork in his duck against Australia.

In his column for the Sportstar, Gavaskar wrote: “In the last tournament in 2019, Rohit Sharma hit five centuries and a few half-centuries too. This time around, which could well be his last World Cup, he has begun with a zero in the first game. The footwork is palpably slow to start with, and that makes him vulnerable to the incoming delivery. If he can rediscover the 2019 form, then India will be assured of a very good start to their campaign.

India will take on Afghanistan on Wednesday in Delhi, followed by the epic clash against Pakistan on Saturday in Ahmedabad.
