Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has expressed his displeasure over the ‘umpire’s call’ in the Decision Review System (DRS) and has urged the International Cricket Council [ICC] to look into the matter.

It happened after the Australian batsmen Joe Burns and Marnus were give not out on review after ball-tracking returned ‘Umpire’s Call’ on Day 3 of the ongoing 2nd Test match between India and Australia at the iconic MCG.

The first incident took place early during the Australian innings when Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah hit Joe Burns on his toe with a yorker. Team India went up immediately however, the on-field umpire adjudged it as ‘not out’.

Later, India went for the review, which displayed ‘Umpire’s Call’, which eventually went in favor of the Australians.

In the second instance, Mohammed Siraj got one chance to dismiss Marnus, pinning him on the backfoot. However, once again the on-field decision was against India and it remained as it is even after review.

Disappointed with the decisions, Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar took to his Twitter and urged the ICC to review the same. He wrote:

”The reason players opt for a review is because they’re unhappy with the decision taken by the on-field umpire. The DRS system needs to be thoroughly looked into by the @ICC ,especially for the ‘Umpires Call’. #AUSvIND”
