SKY is the limit! Indian middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav produced an incredible display of power-hitting as he registered his maiden international century in the final match of the 3-match T20I series. He achieved a huge milestone while playing the best knock of his cricketing career.

Suryakumar Yadav Gave A Blockbuster Show

Chasing a mammoth 216 in the dead rubber, SKY walked in to bat at number four after the top-order collapse. SKY walked in with all guns blazing and brought the much-needed momentum back to the side. Suryakumar put up a batting exhibition as he smashed the England bowlers to all the corners of the ground.

Shreyas Iyer, who was batting at the other end, was seen struggling to get going. Both the cricketers added 119 runs for the fourth wicket, out of which Shreyas scored only 28 runs. After Shreyas’ dismissals, the wickets at the other end kept falling but SKY kept strong and kept hitting the bowlers.

Surya reached the triple-figure mark off just 48 balls, joining Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, KL Rahul, and Deepak Hooda in the elite list of Indian batters with a T20I century.

Also, SKY is only second Indian to score a century at no.4 or below after KL Rahul, who had reached a triple-figure batting at no.4 during a game against West Indies in Lauderhill. SKY’s stunning knock of 117 runs off 48 balls was laced with 14 fours and six sixes. However, he fell short of one run from equalling Rohit’s record for the highest score by an Indian in the format.

Sachin Tendulkar hailed SKY

Meanwhile, fans went berserk after the blockbuster performance from SKY. From cricketers, experts to fans, everyone took to social media to hail the brilliance of the talented player.

Among many, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar also took to his social media and penned a special Tweet for the batter. In his tweet, Sachin also praised the scoop shots that she played during the game. He wrote:

“Amazing 💯@surya_14kumar!
There were quite a few brilliant shots but those scoop 6⃣s over point were just spectacular. #ENGvIND”
