Salaries Of International Cricket Captains In 2021: Cricket is one of the most popular and celebrated sports around the world. Therefore, the pressure on the cricketers is always very high. However, one player who takes ownership of the entire team is the captain.  A majority of captains around the world are centrally contracted and thus are paid accordingly.

8. Sri Lanka: Dimuth Karunaratne – INR 51.03 lakh, Kusal Perera – INR 25 lakh

As per the latest contracts, Dimuth Karunaratne, who is the skipper of Sri Lankan cricket team in Test format, receives an annual salary of $ 70,000, on the other hand, white-ball skipper of Sri Lankan cricket team Kusal Perera gets $35,000 annually.




7. Pakistan: Babar Azam – INR 62.40 lakh:

The skipper of the Pakistan cricket team, Babar Azam, who is hailed as one of the most prominent batsmen right now, is centrally contracted with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in the top category (Category A). The skipper receives an annual salary of 13.2 Million PKR, which is INR 62.40 lakh approximately.

6. West Indies: Kieron Pollard – 1.73 crore, Kraigg Brathwaite – 1.39 crore:

According to the latest contracts, Kieron Pollard, who is the skipper of the West Indies cricket team in the white-ball format, receives an annual salary of $250,000 (₹1.73 crores). On the other hand, Kraigg Brathwaite, who leads the team in the longest format, gets $200,000 (₹ 1.39 crores) per season.

5. New Zealand: Kane Williamson – 1.77 crores:

Kane Williamson, who is hailed as one of the best cricketers in the world right now, leads the New Zealand cricket team in all three formats of the game. Williamson receives a $440,000 a year from his New Zealand cricket contract. The salary also includes $40,000 as a special bonus for being the skipper of the national cricket team.

4. South Africa: Dean Elgar – INR 3.2 crore, Temba Bavuma – INR 2.5 crore:

South Africa name Dean Elgar Test captain and Temba Bavuma ODI and T20I captain

Temba Bavuma is the current skipper of the South African cricket team in the ODI and T20I format, while Dean Elgar leads the team in the longest format of the game. As far as their salary is concerned, Bavuma receives $350,000 while Elgar receives an annual salary of $450,000.

3. Australia: Aaron Finch – INR 4.87 crore, Tim Paine – 4.87 crores:

Cricket Australia is one of the richest cricket boards in the world. The board pays a hefty sum of $1 million as a yearly salary to both the skippers. While Aaron Finch leads Australia in white-ball cricket, on the other hand, Tim Pain leads the team in the longest format of the game.

2. India: Virat Kohli – INR 7 crore:

Virat Kohli, who is regarded as the modern-legend of this game, leads the Indian cricket team in all the formats of the game. He receives a significant sum of INR 7 crore per year.

1. England: Joe Root – INR 8.97 crore, Eoin Morgan – 1.75 crores:

While Joe Root leads the England cricket team in the Test format, on the other hand, Eoin Morgan leads the team in T20I and ODI cricket. Joe Root, who plays in all the formats of the game receives a sum of £870,000 from the England Cricket Board (ECB) per year. On the other hand, Morgan receives a sum of £170,000 yearly.
