Former Indian cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar pointed out the biggest change in the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League.

Royal Challengers Bangalore has done exceptionally well in the ongoing edition of the tournament. They are currently sitting at the third position in the points table with a tally of 16 points from 12 fixtures. They became the third team to qualify for the IPL 2021 playoffs after Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals.

Sanjay Manjrekar Pin-Points The Biggest Change For RCB In IPL 2021

Manjrekar heaped praises on Glenn Maxwell as he feels that he has been the biggest change in the RCB squad in IPL 2021. He lauded Maxwell for his consistent shows after the cricketer notched up his third consecutive half-century in the ongoing UAE leg of the IPL.

Manjrekar’s comments came after Glenn Maxwell’s Player of the Match performance against Punjab Kings in Sharjah, as he slammed 57 runs off just 33 balls, hitting three fours and fours sixes to power RCB to a competitive total of 164 runs.

Talking to ESPNcricinfo, Manjrekar heaped praises on Maxwell. He said: “… You have got a Maxwell coming in and playing the way he does; RCB’s story has been about Maxwell finding form after the UAE leg,”

Manjrekar also talked about the efforts of Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal. Talking about Yuzvendra Chahal, Manjrekar said that his omission from the WC squad has really hurt the RCB spinner and the same can be seen in his performance. He said:

“You can see in the mannerism that it [not being selected in the T20 World Cup squad] has hurt him. The dropping has really hurt him and you will see a better version of Chahal. He is going to make a comeback soon, it’s on the cards,”
