Shubman Gill, who is hailed as the ‘future of Indian cricket’, once again proved his worth as he registered his maiden T20I century in the 3rd and final T20I of the series against New Zealand. Gill, who had recently scored a double century in the ODI format against the Kiwis earlier, reached the triple-figure mark in the shortest format of the game for the first time in his career. He reached his century off just 54 balls, becoming the 5th Indian batter to score a T20I hundred.

Shubman Gill, who ended his blockbuster innings at 126 runs, has etched his name in the history books as he registered the highest score for an Indian in T20Is. Gill carried his fine form as he showcased his array of shots, hitting the Kiwi bowlers to all the corners of the ground to score an unbeaten knock of 126 runs off just 63 balls, hitting 12 fours and seven sixes.

Social media has been buzzing with amazing reactions and messages for the young lad as he added another feather to his hat. From cricketers to experts and fans, everyone is taking to social media to praise the performance of Gill in the T20I match.

Among many, former Indian cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar also took to his social media and posted a very interesting tweet on Gill. In his Tweet, Sanjay Manjrekar highlighted the biggest improvement of Gill’s game. He wrote:

“Gill’s back foot trigger movement puts him in a great position to play back foot shots. But now because of a relaxed, confident mind, the front foot goes down a long way to play the gorgeous drives. No escape for the bowlers. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼”

With this knock Gill, who was receiving plenty of criticism for his performances in the shortest format for India of late, has managed to silence his critics. There were many who wanted Shaw to replace him in the playing XI, however, with this knock, Shubman has made his case even more strong.
