Sanjay Manjrekar Replies To His Own Tweet In Which He Had Written Off Virat Kohli As A Test Player: Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, is currently the number one batsman in the world. However, his journey to the number one spot was never an easy one. Though, he is now busy creating and breaking records but in his initial days, he struggled a lot in the longer format and was even on the verge of getting dropped from the Indian squad.
However, there was one man who showed faith over Virat Kohli and the man is MS Dhoni. Today, Virat Kohli has come a long way.
There were many who criticized him for his performances. Among many, Sanjay Manjrekar, the former Indian cricketer and commentator, was the one who wrote off Virat Kohli’s chances in the longest format of the game.
Sanjay Manjrekar has a knack of making it to the news for reasons he would love to avoid. And yet again, he is making news for all the wrong reasons. Well, recently he was trolled for a tweet that he made 8 years ago on Virat Kohli. In 2012, Sanjay Manjrekar had criticized Virat Kohli’s performance and wrote:
“I would still drop VVS & get rohit in for next test.Makes long term sense. give virat 1 more test..just to be sure he does not belong here.

After getting trolled for his eight-year-old tweet, Sanjay Manjrekar finally decided to respond to the tweet. In his reply, not just he defended himself but also that he is glad that he and MS Dhoni were on the same page. He wrote:
“Very proud of that tweet. In his 1st year in Tests, after scores of 11,0,23,9 in Aus, I remember, fans/media saying Virat does not belong here & had his neck on the chopping block for the next Test. I said give him 1 more Test to be sure. Glad Dhoni & me were on the same page.?,”
