Rajasthan Royals pacer Kartik Tyagi has been receiving praises for his heroics last night, which helped his team pull off a nail-biting victory. Well, all thanks to Kartik Tyagi’s last over brilliance, Rajasthan Royals sealed an epic two-run win over the Punjab Kings in their first game back in IPL 2021.
Though initially he leaked 28 runs and was struggling to find some rhythm in the game. However, despite his disappointing performance, skipper Sanju Samson handed him the ball to defend four in the final over of the Kings’ run-chase.
Kartik Tyagi didn’t let his team and skipper down by any means Kartik Tyagi’s last over left Punjab Kings in complete shambles. He bowled the wide Yorkers with precision and kept his composure. Rajasthan required nothing more than a miracle to secure two points from this match and Tyagi delivered it when it mattered the most.
After the match, RR skipper Sanju Samson heaped praises on Tyagi for showing nerves of steel in the final over. He also praised Tyagi’s yorkers, that turned the game for their team. He said:
“Somewhere we had that fight left. We knew we had some special bowlers. Kept Mustafizur’s overs for the end. Tyagi was confident with his yorkers, especially wide yorkers. Executed them well against the new batters. And we had top fielding plans for every batter, we have planned till the last batter,”
Later, in a video shared by Rajasthan Royals Samson was heard calling Tyagi ‘Brett Lee’. Here, watch the video:

This isn’t the first time when someone has compared Tyagi to the legendary Brett Lee. In the previous edition of the IPL, England cricketer Ben Stokes heaped praises on Tyagi by calling him a combination of Lee and Ishant Sharma. Ben Stokes tweeted:
“Tyagi has a run up like Brett Lee and delivers like Ishant Sharma @rajasthanroyals,” Later, Lee also agreed with the Englishman. “Yeh I can see that mate,” Lee had reverted.
