Sanju Samson, the right-handed batsman who made his T20I debut in the year 2015 has finally got a chance to prove his worth, as he is finally included in the playing squad for India, in the ongoing third game in Pune against Sri Lanka.
Ahead of the final T20i, India made as many as three changes to the playing squad. Besides Sanju Samson who became the highlight of the playing XI, Yuzvendra Chahal and Manish Pandey were also included in the playing XI.
The fans were delighted to see Sanju Samson who finally got a chance in the team. He made a comeback in the team after a long gap of four years. Sanju Samson last played for India during the T20i series against Bangladesh T20Is in November 2015.
Even though he was picked in the squad for the series against West Indies. But an injury to Shikhar Dhawan changed the fortunes for Sanju Samson as he finally got a chance to feature for the Indian cricket team.
Talking about the ongoing match, Virat Kohli chose to bat first after winning the toss. Openers KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan set the momentum of the game by kickstarting the game and adding 110 runs. However, the wickets of both the cricketers were bundled up in quick succession.
Sanju Samson also failed to make the best of the opportunity given to him as he was dismissed after playing 2 balls. He smashed a six off the first ball and was dismissed on the second ball. The Indian cricket team set the target of 201 runs for the Sri Lankan cricket team.
