The Indian cricket team’s tour of Sri Lanka ended up on a disappointing note for the wicketkeeper-batsman, Sanju Samson, who could only manage to score 80 runs in 4 outings for the Men in Blue across formats. Samson was backed throughout the tour and was included in the playing XI in all three T20Is, however, he could only manage to score 34 runs in the T20I series.

For the unversed, Samson was dropped from the squad for India’s home series against England and was included in Sri Lanka’s tour in the absence of regulars.

However, the whole cricket fraternity and his fans were left disappointed after he wasted another opportunity. He has found himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling. Samson, who earned his maiden call-up in 2014, has only scored 117 runs in the 10 T20Is he has played so far.

Now after such disappointing performances, Samson has bleak chances of making it to the World Cup squad as Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul are confirmed selections in the squad.

Later, after suffering the series defeat, Sanju Samson took to his Twitter and wrote a heart-touching note for his fans. In his tweet, Samson expressed his feels and stated that the journey continues for him. He wrote:

“Some nice memories and some bitter ones, that’s the way of life and this wonderful game !! Respecting and being grateful to everything happening around…
The JOURNEY continues”
