Sarfaraz Khan Made A Big Revelation About His Participation In IPL 2024

India’s young and talented Sarfaraz Khan has impressed one and all with his impressive performances for the Indian cricket team. He has become one of the most talked about cricketers off-lately, with several cricketers and experts praising him for his intent and batting prowess.

Ahead of the IPL 2024, several reports of Sarfaraz Khan joining Kolkata Knight Riders are also making rounds on the internet. Sarfaraz has now finally opened up on the matter and has made a big revelation on whether he is in talks with the Indian Premier League teams for participation in the upcoming 2024 edition of the tournament.

Sarfaraz Khan has represented Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), and Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) across 8 seasons. He has played 50 matches in his IPL career so far.

However, his performances in the Indian Premier League haven’t quite matched the expectations of the fans, as he amassed only 585 runs scored at an average of 22.50 and a strike rate of 130.58. Sarfaraz’s highest score in the IPL is 67, which also happens to be his only 50-plus score.

Sarfaraz Khan did not attract any bids from IPL franchises during the IPL 2024 auction. However, there remains a possibility for him to be drafted in as a replacement player in the event of any injury concerns within the teams during the tournament.

Meanwhile, speaking at the India Today Conclave in New Delhi, Sarfaraz Khan expressed his determination regarding his IPL prospects. He emphasized that he is putting in a lot of effort and is fully prepared to seize any opportunity that comes his way if he receives a call from any IPL franchise. He said:

“In a big IPL season, there are chances of players getting injured, and you get calls. But, what’s in my hand is my hard work. I want to keep working hard. I am not part of the IPL as of now, but if I get a call, I have to be ready for that. I have to continue my practice at home and also keep my red-ball practice going,

During the same interaction, Sarfaraz Khan was asked about his social media followers. He mentioned that he had noticed a significant increase in followers on his official Instagram handle following his debut for the India National Cricket Team. He said:

“For the last 4 years, it was 600-700k followers on Instagram. Suddenly, after playing for India, it has become 1.5 million. It’s good,”

Sarfaraz also admitted that he felt pressure while playing against England and disclosed that he has been aware of the significance of Test cricket since his childhood days.  He said:

“From my childhood, I have been hearing stories about the importance of Test cricket. My father kept telling me the importance of the longest format of the game. It’s not like there was no pressure, I felt pressure when playing my maiden series,”
