VIDEO: Shafali Verma Replicates Virender Sehwag As She Smashed A Massive Six

Shafali Verma, who is fondly called “Lady Sehwag”, has taken the ongoing Women’s Premier League by storm with her sensational performances. As Delhi Capitals is currently locking horns against the UP Warriors today, March 7, Shafali stole all the limelight by smashing a stunning six, that will make everyone remember the batting great Virender Sehwag.

As the match began at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, Alyssa Healy, the captain of the Warriors, won the coin toss, and they then opted to bowl first. Shafali Verma and captain Meg Lanning stole the show with their batting prowess.

Shafali Verma Smashed A stunning Six

However, Shafali wasn’t able to do particularly well in this inning. During her short knock of 14 balls, Verma smashed one four and a stunning six, which left everyone in awe of her.

The six came on the 5th ball of the fourth over of Delhi’s innings, when Shafali Verma smashed fast bowler Anjali Verma for an 81-meter six, running ahead and slamming in the direction of cover. Everyone in the stadium, from the spectators to the fielders, was left stunned by her amazing shot. However, watching her shot repeatedly would undoubtedly bring Virender Sehwag to mind.

Talking about the ongoing match, while Shafali failed to make it big with the bat, on the other hand, captain Meg Lanning played a captain’s knock as she turned out to be the highest run-getter for her side. She played a stunning knock of 70 runs off 42 balls, smashing 10 fours and 3 sixes.

Jess Jonassen also played a quickfire knock of 42 runs off 20 balls, smashing 3 fours and 3 sixes. Delhi Capitals posted a target of 211 for UP Warriorz.
