‘Horrible’ Comment On Harmanpreet Kaur: It seems that Australia keeper-opener Alyssa Healy wants to rile up the Indian fans every now and then. In the latest of her remarks, which many fans felt were unnecessary and distasteful, the senior Aussie star said Harmanpreet Kaur “genuinely” needed to “put in the effort” while running between the wickets in her bizarre run-out in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2023.
In the chase of the 173-run target, Kaur, who had been battling fever for the past 2 days, kept India alive with her knock of 52(34) and was involved in two crucial, counter-attacking partnerships – 69 (41) with Jemimah Rodrigues and 35 (26) with Richa Ghosh – after India had lost their top 3 for only 28 runs and a loss seemed inevitable.
When India looked in a strong position, Harmanpreet Kaur, however, got run out in an unfortunate manner: as has been taught to any batter, she slid her bat and would have been inside the crease comfortably, but, unluckily, her bat got jammed in the ground outside the crease and Healy was quick to snap off the bails.
Knowing she’s got run out in such an unfortunate manner, Harmanpreet Kaur left fuming, throwing her bat in the air.
Alyssa Healy gets flak from fans for her comment on Harmanpreet Kaur
Where Kaur and a major portion of the Indian fans have put it down to some bad luck – mind you, she’d have easily made it into the crease had the bat not gotten stuck in the ground – Alyssa Healy has an opposite opinion.
“Harmanpreet can say all she likes that it was so unlucky,” Healy told ABC Sport, “but at the end of the day she cruised back and probably could have past the crease – you know, an extra two metres if she genuinely put in the effort.
“You could say you were unlucky all your life, but it’s generally about effort at that moment in time, and that’s something we speak about in the field in particular, in putting in that effort and putting in that energy – and I think that comes back to running between wickets as well.”
Many fans are unhappy with Alyssa Healy’s comment regarding Harmanpreet Kaur’s commitment:
"Harmanpreet can say all she likes that it was so unlucky." 👀
For all young cricketers wanting to learn the value of staying alert on the field, listen to Alyssa Healy.

Harman was going to cruise in comfortably had the bat not got stuck…
Why does Alyssa keep making such statements and attract more flak…
Just stop being condescending for once…— Jatin Khandelwal (@Jatin_Cricket_) February 26, 2023

Bat getting stuck is unlucky.
And it doesn't take a lot of skill to take the bails off. Don't hype basic things. Especially when it was a lucky win.— Cow Corner (@CowCorner183) February 26, 2023

Salty do you even know what you are speaking here? She was on paracetamol that day. Stop being so jealous cause she is getting all the positive attentions and no one is talking about your poor innings.

That run-out became the turning point of India’s chase, bringing the downfall of the Women In Blue in Cape Town as Australia prevailed by 5 runs and sealed their place in yet another T20 World Cup final.
