Pakistani pace duo of Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Amir made their picks between the covers drives of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, and the pull shot of Rohit Sharma compared to the pick-up flick of Mohammad Rizwan.
Earlier this month, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Amir both played together for the Desert Vipers franchise in the ILT20 tournament, which was the second edition of the competition, in the UAE.
Both the fast bowlers sat down with legendary Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik for a fun interview in which Malik threw some tough questions at Amir and Shaheen. The toughest question of the lot, perhaps, was to pick between the cover drives of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam.
Kohli and Azam, the two biggest batters of their country in the current generation, have the two most glorious, beautiful cover drives in the world. Their technique, timing, class, balance, and follow-through make it aesthetically pleasing to watch.
Mohammad Amir picked Virat Kohli’s cover drive as the best in the world while Shaheen Afridi went with his teammate Babar Azam’s. Amir revealed his choice before Shaheen. And after Shaheen named Babar’s cover drive above Kohli’s Amir donned a stunned look and he observed Shaheen with astonishment on his face.
Shaheen Afridi picks Mohammad Rizwan’s pull-flick over Rohit Sharma’s pull shot
Very few could argue that anybody in the world plays the pull shot better than Rohit Sharma, the India captain. Well, among those few is Shaheen Afridi, who went with teammate Mohammad Rizwan’s pull-flick shot over Rohit’s pull. Once again, Amir, who named Rohit as the best puller of the cricket ball in the world, was left surprised at Shaheen’s choice.

Their team, Desert Vipers, failed to reach the playoffs in the ILT20 tournament. MI Emirates won the title. Shaheen Afridi is currently playing in the PSL 2023. He captained Lahore to the title last season, but his team has lost their first two games.
