Shahid Afridi Posts Emotional Tweet After Daughter’s Wedding To Shaheen Afridi

Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi got married to Ansha, the eldest daughter of former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi, on Friday, in a nikkah ceremony held in Karachi in the presence of friends and family.

With no national assignment this week, the ceremony was attended by the current Pakistan captain Babar Azam, wicket-keeper Sarfaraz Ahmed, opener Fakhar Zaman, all-rounder Shadab Khan and speedster Naseem Shah among many.

A day after the wedding, Shahid Afridi took to his social media outlets to write an emotional post for his daughter, and congratulated the duo for their newly married life.

“Daughter is the most beautiful flower of your garden because they blossom with great blessing. A daughter is someone you laugh with, dream with, and love with all your heart. As parent, I gave my daughter in Nikkah to @iShaheenAfridi, congratulations to the two of them,” Shahid Afridi tweeted.

Shaheen Afridi fitness update and comeback date:

Shaheen Afridi has been out of international action since the T20 World Cup 2022 final, which Pakistan lost to England at the MCG. He had flared up his knee injury while fielding.

The fast bowler has resumed his rehabilitation in Karachi after missing the entire home season.

When will Shaheen Afridi return?

Shaheen Afridi is expected to return to action during the PSL 2023, which starts on February 13.

In a statement on Monday, the PCB said Afridi “will resume his rehabilitation under the national men’s team’s medical staff in Karachi from today. While providing Shaheen top-notch care, this move will allow the medical staff to track his progression and pave way for his smooth return to action.”

Shaheen Afridi had troubled his knee in July first when he was ruled out for three-and-a-half months, but was prematurely brought back for the T20 World Cup, where he helped Pakistan reach the final. But, in the final against England, Afridi could bowl only 2.1 overs after hurting his knee while taking a catch.
