On Monday, India captain Rohit Sharma and BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar finally announced the squads for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 via a press conference. The Indian squad for Asia Cup 2023 had three big names returning after an injury break. Jasprit Bumrah, who is currently leading India in the Ireland T20I series, made a comeback while KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer too made comebacks in the squads.

However, there was no place for the talented wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who has been a prominent member of the Men in Blue in the limited format of the game in recent times. Besides him, Sanju Samson has also failed to find a spot for himself but he has been included in the team as a reserved player.

Meanwhile, when the team was announced, the official broadcasters of Asia Cup – Star Sports – showed the full squad minutes before the official announcement. Shockingly, Shubman Gill’s name was missing from the squad in the infographic. But later on, the broadcasters corrected the mistake.

As the blunder took place, social media was flooded with reactions from the fans. Former India opener Wasim Jaffer had a hilarious take on the whole thing.
