Shubman Gill’s father surely felt immense pride watching his son excel at the HPCA stadium. Gill has shown confidence and determination since Day 1, displaying a touch of aggression in his batting.

In this series, Gill worked hard to overcome technical issues, especially with his grip. He struggled during the South Africa tour, scoring only 74 runs across four innings.

At the start of the 5-match Test series against England at home, Gill faced criticism for his poor form and grip issues. Despite good starts, his shot selection led to soft dismissals. However, he turned things around in Vishakhapatnam, scoring crucial runs to secure his spot in the squad.

Following his impressive knock of 104, Shubman Gill faced ups and downs in the series. He had a disappointing outing with a duck and 91 runs in the third Test at Rajkot. Despite this, India secured their biggest Test match win by 434 runs.

In the second innings of the same Test, Gill scored 38 runs. He then played a crucial unbeaten innings of 52 runs in partnership with Dhruv Jurel, who scored the winning runs in India’s 5-wicket victory at Ranchi in the fourth Test.
