SL vs IND: Here Is Why Shubman Gill Was Dropped In The 2nd T20I: The Gautam Gambhir era started with a win. India beat Sri Lanka in the first match of the 5-game T20I series by 43 runs. They were sensational with the bat as they scored 213 runs. In reply, Sri Lanka were all out for 170 runs. Today, both the teams face each other in the second T20I in Palekelle.

At the toss Sky said that Shubman Gill woke up with neck spasm on the day of the second T20I. So, he was rested in the game and Samson was included in the playing XI. Samson will likely open the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal when India comes to chase the total.

“We will look to bowl first. There is a bit of weather around and the wicket played better in the second innings. There are always areas to improve even when you win a game, you keep learning and you keep improving. Gill misses out as he woke up with a neck spasm, Samson comes in,” Suryakumar said.

At the time of writing, Sri Lanka have scored 147 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 18 overs. India will want to win this game and win the series 2-0 before going to the final T20I. On the other hand, Sri Lanka will want to come back in the series by winning the second T20I.
