SL vs IND: Virat Kohli Is Set To Break Another Record Of Sachin Tendulkar

Indian star batter, Virat Kohli, is back on the cricket field in the ODI series vs Sri Lanka. Hew as not present in the T20I series vs Sri Lanka as he has already announced his retirement from T20I cricket after winning the ICC T20 World Cup. In the ODI World Cup 2023, he broke Sachin Tendulkar‘s record of most number of ODI centuries by becoming the only batter to score 50 ODI centuries.

Now, in the ongoing ODI series, he has the chance to break another record of Tendulkar. He needs just 152 runs to become the fastest to score 14,000 runs in ODI cricket. If he completes that in the first ODI, he will reach the milestone in 280 innings while Tendulkar achieved it in 350 innings.

SL vs IND: Virat Kohli Is Set To Break Another Record Of Sachin Tendulkar

Tendulkar reached the milestone as the first player during an ODI against Pakistan in Peshawar in 2006. On the other hand, Kumar Sangakkara reached the milestone in 378 innings during the ODI World Cup in 2015.

Virat Kohli has currently scored 13,848 runs in 292 ODI matches. He is currently the third highest run-scorer in ODI history. He is definitely the greatest ever to grace ODI cricket with a stunning average of 58.67 to 50 ODI centuries. Kohli has been a beast in ODI cricket and won matches for his team in all parts of the world in ODI cricket. Moreover, he has been a beast while chasing runs.

After announcing his retirement from T20I cricket, he will now focus on plummeting runs in ODI cricket and test cricket. Kohli will now turn his focus to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and ICC World Test Championship 2025. Fans will be raring to see Kohli dominate ODI and Test cricket in the coming days for sure!
