Gill complemented him with 34 runs off 16 balls with 6 fours and one six. Captain Suryakumar Yadav smashed 58 runs off 26 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. Rishabh Pant struggled with the bat but scored 49 runs off 33 balls.

Matheesha Pathirana was the star of the show with 4 wickets for 40 runs in his four overs. He bowled some brilliant yorkers. However, the most striking Yorker was the one he bowled to pick up the wicket of Hardik Pandya. He bowled a searing yorker at 151 kmph. Pandya was trying to make room and smash the delivery to the leg side. However, the ball missed his bat, hit his pad and went on to crash on the leg stump. That was just a brute of a delivery to dismiss Pandya who could have been dangerous in the death overs. Pandya scored 9 runs off 10 balls.
