Shikhar Dhawan is one of the most destructive batsmen in world cricket, across all three formats of the game. In the last 4 years or so, he has worked very hard on his batting and established himself as an important member of Indian cricket team, across all three formats of the game.

However, this post is not about Shikhar Dhawan and his extraordinary achievements on the field. It is about his beautiful wife Ayesha Dhawan, who is very popular among Indian cricket fans. Every year, we get to see Ayesha Dhawan cheering for Shikhar in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and many Indian cricket fans believe that she is one of the most beautiful WAGs of Indian cricket.

1) Half Bengali, Half British

Ayesha Mukherjee is a half-Bengali and half-British amateur boxer who follows a regular fitness regime. She is very particular about her diet and exercise, and, in fact, she has also helped Shikhar in improving his fitness level in the last couple of years. It can be easily said that Dhawan is one of fittest cricketers in India.

2) Early life 

Ayesha Dhawan is an Anglo-British because her mother is British and father is an Indian Bengali. Her father and mother used to work in a  factory, where they met and fell in love.  However, after Ayesha’s birth they shifted to Australia, where she completed her schooling and graduation. Ayesha can speak Bengali very fluently.

3) First marriage 

Ayesha got married to an Australian businessman but her marriage didn’t work out fine and she divorced him before getting married to Shikhar Dhawan. She has two daughters from her first marriage, Rhea, and Aliyah.

4) Love on Facebook

Ayesha and Shikhar’s story started on Facebook when Shikhar randomly came across her profile and was bowled over by her beauty. He immediately sent a friend request, which Ayesh accepted. Interestingly, Harbhajan Singh was their mutual friend. For many months, Ayesha and Shikhar used to chat on Facebook and this is how they fell for each other.

5) From Ayesha to Ayesha Dhawan

Ayesha and Shikhar got engaged in 2009 but because that period was very important for Dhawan’s career, they waited till 2012 to get married.

6) Age gap

Ayesha is 10 years elder than Shikhar Dhawan. But, as they say, age is just a number. Initially, many questions were raised on their union. But, Shikhar Dhawan’s mother was very supportive of this match.

7) Traditional Sikh wedding 

Shikhar and Ayesha Dhawan had a traditional Sikh wedding. Many cricketers including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and others attend the wedding.
