Sourav Ganguly Hints At Sachin Tendulkar’s Entry In Cricket Administration

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) led by former legendary skipper Sourav Ganguly recently roped in legendary Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid for the position of head coach of the men’s team before VVS Laxman was made the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). With so many former legends joining the BCCI, it almost felt as if the Ganguly era of cricket is making its way back into Indian cricket but in different roles.

Recently, the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly dropped a big hint at adding legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar next to his list. Yes, you read that right.

Well, talking to journalist Boria Majumdar during ‘Backstage with Boaria’, Sourav Ganguly opined that there can’t be news bigger for Indian cricket than the involvement of Sachin Tendulkar in the team. However, he also admitted the fact that it might be a little different in this scenario because of the presence of ‘conflict of interest’. He said:

“Sachin is obviously a bit different. He doesn’t want to be involved in all this. I’m sure with Sachin’s involvement in Indian cricket in someway, it can’t be a better news than that. In what way that obviously needs to be worked out. Because there is too much of conflict all around. Rightly or wrongly, anything and everything you do you have the word ‘conflict’ keeps jumping out of the window, some of which I find really really unrealistic.”

He added:

“So you have to see the best way to keep the best talent involved in the game. And at some stage Sachin will also find a way to be involved in Indian cricket,”

Talking about the Master Blaster, though he hasn’t taken an active role with the BCCI or Indian cricket team so far, but he has been involved with Mumbai Indians as the mentor ever since he retired from playing cricket. It will indeed be a piece of great news for the fans if Sachin joins the BCCI.
