Indian Superstar batter Virat Kohli and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly still seem not to be on good terms even after a heartwarming handshake between the two when they last met during the Delhi Capitals vs RCB clash earlier this season.
Shubman Gill Shattered Hopes Of Virat Kohli
Ganguly ignored Virat Kohli’s world-class knock against Gujarat Titans on Sunday during the last league game of the season as he took to his social media and only praised the young ‘prince’ Shubman Gill for his magnificent century.
For the unversed, on Sunday, Virat created a record to become the batter to register the most century in the history of the Indian Premier League, bringing up his 7th century at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. With this century, Kohli broke former teammate Chris Gayle’s long-standing Indian Premier League record.
He played a crucial knock in the must-win game against Gujarat Titans, reaching the triple-figure mark in just 60 balls. This was Kohli’s second-successive ton in the season. The first century of this season came against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
However, all his efforts went in vain as young talent Shubman Gill played a sensational knock and registered his second century to crush the hopes of RCB to make it to the playoffs.
Sourav Ganguly Ignored Kohli
Meanwhile, Sourav Ganguly took to his social media and only appreciated the masterclass of Gill, who smashed a stunning century to eliminate RCB from the playoff race and didn’t even appreciate Virat’s effort. He wrote:
“What talent this country produces .. shubman gill .. wow .. two stunning knocks in two halves .. IPL.. .. what standards in the tournament @bcci”
