Talking about the match, KKR batted first and struggled early on, reaching 51/4 in 7.3 overs. However, Phil Salt’s half-century (54 runs in 40 balls) and quickfire innings from Ramandeep Singh (35 runs in 17 balls) stabilized their innings. They were at 119/6 in 13.5 overs.

Later, a powerful partnership of 67 runs between Andre Russell (64* runs in 25 balls) and Rinku Singh (23 runs in 15 balls) boosted KKR’s total to 208/7 in 20 overs. In response, SRH had a good start with a 60-run opening stand between Mayank Agarwal (32 runs in 21 balls) and Abhishek Sharma (32 runs in 19 balls).

The team stumbled and found themselves at 145/5 in 16.5 overs. But then, Heinrich Klaasen (63 runs in 29 balls with eight sixes) and Shahbaz Ahmed (16 runs in five balls, with a four and two sixes) launched a fierce attack with several sixes. With 13 runs needed in the final over, Harshit Rana (3/33) remained composed, taking two wickets and preventing further runs.
