KKR’s pacer Harshit Rana was fined for breaching level 1 of the IPL Code of Conduct due to his aggressive send-offs in a recent match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Led by Shreyas Iyer, the team secured a four-run victory in the third match of the ongoing IPL season at Eden Gardens on Saturday, March 23. Harshit Rana played a crucial role, claiming three wickets and conceding 33 runs in his four-over spell.

Harshit Rana was fined 60 percent of his match fees for committing two Level 1 offenses under Article 2.5 of the Code. The fines amounted to 10 percent and 50 percent, respectively. Rana accepted the sanctions imposed by the Match Referee.
“Kolkata Knight Riders bowler Harshit Rana has been fined a total of 60 percent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on March 23.”
“Rana committed two Level 1 offences under Article 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. He was fined 10 percent and 50 percent of his match fees for the two respective offenses. Rana admitted to the two offenses and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” read the statement from IPL.
Harshit Rana gave aggressive send-offs to both Mayank Agarwal and Heinrich Klaasen in the recent game. After dismissing Mayank, he blew a kiss, prompting a reaction from the batter, who scored 32 runs off 21 balls. Similarly, Rana’s send-off to Heinrich Klaasen in the final over, who scored 63 runs off 29 balls, was noted.
Harshit Rana’s remarkable performance against SRH made him one of KKR’s standout players, overshadowing Mitchell Starc’s costly spell. Despite conceding a six off the first ball, Rana defended 13 runs in the final over, securing a thrilling victory. Andre Russell’s unbeaten 64 off 25 balls earned him the player of the match title, rescuing KKR from a challenging position. With this win, KKR climbed to third place in the points table and is set to face RCB next.
