SunRisers Hyderabad’s talented batter Rahul Tripathi stole the show with his batting heroics as he took on the best of bowlers in the KKR lineup in the just concluded Match 25 of the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Rahul Tripathi, who is a former Kolkata Knight Riders player, showed no mercy while smashing the bowlers of his former franchise. Chasing a target of 176 runs, SRH received an early blow as they lost the skipper Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma early in the innings.
However, then Rahul Tripathi walked in with all-guns-blazing and took the game by storm. He smashed the bowlers to all the corners of the ground, especially Varun Chakravarthy, to whom he smashed him for one four and two back-to-back sixes. That particular over changed the momentum for SunRisers Hyderabad.
Rahul Tripathi played a stunning knock of 71 runs off 37 balls before he was dismissed by Andre Russell on the second ball of the 14th over. He tried to pull the ball but failed to power it much. He smashed it straight to long-on where Venkatesh Iyer caught it safely. His stunning knock was laced with 4 fours and 6 sixes.
Riding on his stellar show with the bat, SunRisers Hyderabad was able to register their third consecutive win after suffering a horrible start to the season. They are currently sitting on 7th position of the IPL 2022 points table, with 3 wins and 2 defeats.
Meanwhile, fans on social media are all praise Rahul Tripathi and have flooded social media with their amazing reactions to his performance. Several former cricketers and experts also joined the bandwagon and heaped praises at the talented batter.

Open with Tripathi and let him maximize the powerplays. If Kane’s role is to anchor the innings he’s better off to do that at 3 or 4 depending on the situation. Guy did that mostly playing those long innings at 3 in the past few years. Don’t know what changed.

Tripathi’s intent=entertainment..
what an exciting player to watch..sadly not near the national T20I team..
makes more impact in the middle overs than any Rohit, Rahul, Kohli do now..(Rohit hardly even gets till the middle-overs now)! https://t.co/LhzbMHElRH— Jatin Khandelwal (@jr_khandelwal) April 15, 2022
Never thought it would feel this weird and sad to watch Tripathi bat against KKR.

Rahul Tripathi is arguably the least hyped T20 batter who’s actually very, very good. Would have him over quite a few very popular top 3 batters in the league currently. #SRHvKKR

Rahul Tripathi is operating at a whole different level, man. Doesn’t put a lot of value on his wicket and is always ready to open scoring options. Rarest Indian T20 player ever.
