IPL 2020: With the speculations about the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League growing with every passing day, BCCI on Friday finally cleared the air by announcing about the postponement of the 13th edition of the IPL due to the outbreak of Coronavirus all around the world. The season that earlier stated to kickstart from 29th March, will now kickstart from April 15.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, an IPL governing council meeting took place at the headquarters of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in Mumbai, which was attended by the prominent members of BCCI including BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, and owners of various IPL teams, including Shah Rukh Khan, Akash Ambani, and Parth Jindal and many more.
On Saturday, after the IPL governing council meeting, the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, Shah Rukh Khan took to his Twitter and posted a series of two tweets for the fans of Kolkata Knight Riders. In his Tweet, SRK wrote how security comes first and all the directives of health agencies and government should be followed in order to prevent ourselves from COVID-19.
Concluding the Tweet, Shah Rukh Khan gave it a funny touch by saying that it was lovely meeting everyone but they had to sanitize themselves repeatedly. He wrote:
“Wonderful to meet all the Franchise owners ‘off the field’ so to say. The meeting by @Bcci and @ipl was to reiterate what all of us feel…safety first of the spectators, players management & cities we play in. All directives of the health agencies & govt to be followed.”
He added:
“Hope the spread of the virus subsides & the show can go on. BCCI & team owners in consultation with the govt will keep a close watch & decide the way fwd in the health interest of ever1. Lovely 2 meet every1 & then sanitise ourselves repeatedly”
