Kolkata Knight Riders star spinner Sunil Narine pulled up a sensational performance as he picked 7 wickets, bowling 7 maiden overs ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 campaign.
Interestingly, Narine was about to jet off to India to join the Kolkata Knight Riders camp ahead of the season, however, his flight got delayed but he decided to stay and play in the T&T Cricket Board Premiership Division I, bowling a fiery spell.
Sunil Narine Missed Flight For India
Narine was representing Queen’s Park Cricket Club I, as they took on Clarke Road United at the Queen’s Park Oval in St Clair, Port-of-Spain.
Narine has been in some red-hot form off-lately He has claimed 31 wickets including 4 back-to-back five-wicket hauls in the last three months. In the match against Clarke Road United, Narine produced one of the most memorable performances of his career.
Talking about the match, as the game kickstarted, Park had decided to bowl first given the pitch was already a used surface before Narine could spell his magic. Narine, Jon Russ Jaggesar and Sion Hacket ran through the batting line-up of Clarke Road United.
Once the top order departed, the Sunil Narine show began. Courtesy of his fiery spell, the 34-year-old restricted the opposition side to a paltry 76 runs in just 24 overs. Later, while chasing the target, the Queen’s Park produced a stellar show as they recorded a total of 268 for 3 before declaring.
It was just a mere coincidence that Sunil’s flight got delayed and he ended up playing one of the most memorable games. In fact, this game must have been a well-deserved boost for Narine on a personal level ahead of the much-awaited season of the IPL, where he will play for KKR.
