After a poor run of form for the last many months, India’s star opener KL Rahul finally made a return to his best in the ODI series as he helped the Indian cricket team to win the first match of the ongoing 3-match ODI series against Australia.
KL Rahul Played A Brilliant Knock
Rahul was under the scanner of criticism and trolling because of his poor form and inconsistent performances, was dropped from the XI, and had also lost his Test vice-captaincy after the first two Tests against Australia, however, he played a stunning knock as he silenced his critics in style.
He remained unbeaten on 75 against the Steve Smith-led outfit to take the hosts over the line at Mumbai’s famous Wankhede Stadium.
Rahul’s effort with the bat helped team India take a 1-0 lead in the series. Rahul’s knock was crucial as the top order collapsed and India needed someone to steady the ship. He formed a huge partnership with Ravindra Jadeja to ensure that the Indian side got over the line without any troubles.
His stunning knock of 75* runs was laced with 7 fours and a six. Jadeja also played an instrumental role in India’s win as he played a crucial knock of 45* off 69 balls, packed with five fours.
Sunil Shetty Gave It Back To Critics
Meanwhile, Rahul’s knock came as a big relief to his fans and followers as he was under the scanner for a long time. Following the victory, his father-in-law, veteran Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty, expressed his happiness and fired shots at critics by crediting God. He said:
“Upar wala jab hai na bahar koi kuch bhi bole (When God is with you, it does not matter what the outsiders say),”

Earlier, Rahul’s wife and Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty. Hailing the amazing comeback by Rahul, Athiya too came up with an adorable post for her husband.
Athiya shared a video of Rahul raising his bat after reaching the fifty. Sharing the video, Athiya wrote: “To the most resilient person I know… @klrahul.”
