Suresh Raina Condoled The Death Of His Super-Fan

Former India and Chennai Super Kings stalwart Suresh Raina has a following of millions and millions in India and around the world. Fans have adored Raina over the years not just for his batting and cricketing passion, but also for the lovely and selfless character that the Uttar Pradesh lad is.

One among his gazillion fans is Vignesh, who is also known as Suresh Raina’s Super Fan. Sadly, though, Vignesh recently passed away and the cricketer tweeted paying condolences to his die-hard fan.

Vignesh was regularly seen in India and CSK matches, especially those in which Raina was playing. He cheered for his idol loudly and made Raina’s every move on the field his mantra to track the crikceter.

Unfortunately, Vignesh won’t be seen anymore following his forlorn death.

Raina himself announced this on Twitter that Vignesh is no more with us physically. The former batsman offered his condolences to his Super Fan’s family.

“RIP brother @CricVignesh! My deepest condolences to the family,” Raina tweeted on a video of Vignesh celebrating a run-out that the CSK cricketer did during his IPL playing days, vs KKR.

Vignesh’s Twitter handle is @CricVignesh and has over 800 followers. On his Twitter feed, you can see that he had celebrated Raina’s birthday last year in November by offering lunch to Physically Challenged people in his town.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina has added a new feather to his cap. This time away from the field but for his contributions to the country on the field as well as the society.

2011 World Cup winner and a four-time IPL champion, Raina received an honorary doctorate from Chennai’s Vels University. The Chennai-based university felicitated Raina with the big honour in a special convocation held at the college premises on Friday (August 5).

The southpaw posted images from the convocation ceremony on his official Twitter account.

“I am humbled to receive this honor from the outstanding institution VELS Institute of Science & technology & Advanced Studies @VelsVistas @IshariKGanesh Sir. I am moved by all the love & thank you from the bottom of my heart. Chennai is home & it has a special place for me,” Raina wrote on his official Twitter account with a few pictures from the ceremony.
