Suresh Raina Shared A Special Tweet After MS Dhoni’s Inclusion As India’s Mentor For T20 WC

Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina lauded the decision of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) of naming the legendary Indian skipper MS Dhoni as the mentor of the Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021.

BCCI announced a 15 member squad and three reserve players, on Wednesday, that will participate in the much-awaited tournament T2O World Cup 2021, which will begin in October in the UAE. The final showdown of the tournament will be played on November 14.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirmed the news of MS Dhoni’s inclusion as the mentor of the Indian squad. He revealed that he had a word with MS Dhoni and also with the captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma and all of them agreed. He revealed:

“(I) spoke to him in Dubai. He agreed to be mentor for WT20 only and I discussed with my colleagues and all are on same page. I spoke to captain (Virat Kohli) and vice captain (Rohit Shamra) and everyone agreed,”

It is a very clever move by the BCCI to include MS Dhoni, who is hailed as the most successful skipper in the history of the Indian team, having won all the major trophies and tournaments under his leadership. Infact, under the leadership of MS Dhoni, the Indian cricket team won the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007, defeating their arch-rivals Pakistan by 5 runs in a thriller encounter.

MS is also fondly called Captain Cool by his fans, because of his cool cucumber personality. His mature head and wise decisions have saved the Indian team many times. Fans are expecting a great time ahead with MS Dhoni as the mentor, Virat Kohli as the Captain, and Rohit Sharma as the vice-captain of the T20 squad.

Meanwhile, from cricketers, pundits to fans, everyone is all praises for the wise decision made by the BCCI by including MSD in the team as a mentor. Among many, former Indian cricketers and Dhoni’s great friend Suresh Raina also joined the bandwagon.

Suresh Raina, who announced his retirement along with his friend and brother Dhoni last year, took to his Twitter and lauded BCCI for their decision. He wrote:

All the very best to #TeamIndia on the upcoming T20 World Cup, the selected squad looks very balanced. Good to have @ashwinravi99 back in the team, and a fabulous decision by @bcci to have the man himself @msdhoni bhai as the mentor.”

Suresh Raina will be seen in action playing with MS Dhoni for Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming second leg of the IPL 2021, which was suspended mid-way because of the outbreak of the COVID-19 within the bio-bubble.
