Suryakumar Yadav Gave A Hilarious Reply When Asked About Edgbaston Test Defeat: India’s 2022 tour of England will come to a conclusion on Sunday, with the teams locking horn in Manchester for the third and series-deciding ODI.
Both teams would like to finish the tour on a high which has had ups and downs. India lost the Edgbaston Test – and consequently, the Test series, which had begun in August last year ended in 2-2 – despite dominating for the majority of the period.
They then bounced back to claim the T20I series 2-1, and now the ODI series is level 1-1 after two matches.

Ahead of the third and finale ODI at Old Trafford, star India batsman Suryakumar Yadav was queried about the Edgbaston Test match loss. But the 31-year-old had a humorous reply: “Test match toh sir last year ka tha an?” said SKY with a smile on his face.
Asserting that the players are now only focused on the third ODI, he added: “I think we are not thinking too much. There is a game in hand tomorrow. We are completely focused on that game. Yes, the T20 series is gone, we won that and are happy about it. One-day series is 1-1 and we are very excited. It’s beautiful ground. It is a beautiful wicket as well, so we are very excited for tomorrow’s game.”
Suryakumar Yadav wanting to repay Rohit Sharma’s faith in him

Suryakumar Yadav is arguably India’s best in-form batsman currently. Since making his T20I debut last year, Yadav has scored 537 runs in 17 innings at a strike rate of 177 having struck 4 fifties and a century; he is, unarugably, India’s best 360-degree player.
SKY’s career took a turning point when he joined Mumbai Indians in 2018 where he was promoted to the top of the order and established himself as their key man.
Yadav recalled his chats with skipper Rohit Sharma is keen to repay the faith shown in him by his MI and now India captain.
“Coming into IPL in 2018-19 we [with Rohit ] used to talk about how I can improve my game, handle pressure situations and move forward. We have had a lot of chats about my game and I have literally felt him on the ground whenever he’s leading. I have learnt a lot from him.
“I’m really happy he has shown a lot of confidence in me. I would like to pay back that confidence by scoring runs and winning the game for the team,” he further added.
