Suryakumar Yadav was involved in the dismissal of Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya when the two teams met on Tuesday at the Narendra Modi stadium. The Mumbai Indians star took a brilliant catch, off Piyush Chawla’s bowling, at long-off to send the GT captain back into the dugout.

On the first ball after the powerplay, Chawla was given the ball by captain Rohit Sharma to give a breakthrough and the leg-spinner obliged with Hardik Pandya’s wicket with the help of a stunning, well-judged catch by teammate Suryakumar Yadav.

Chawla floated it nicely outside the off-stump and Hardik Pandya took the bait. The right-hander muscled the ball down the ground, however, Suryakumar, standing a bit straighter than usual long-off position, was standing near the boundary line, centimeters in front of the rope. SKY judged the flight and pace of the incoming ball very well and timed his jump to perfection to complete a superb catch right over his head without having the need to move an inch here or there. Hardik Pandya was disappointed with himself – whether for throwing his wicket away or not being able to clear the fence.

At the top of this article, you can watch Suryakumar Yadav’s sensational catch to dismiss Hardik Pandya.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans defeated Mumbai Indians by 55 runs

After Shubman Gill’s half-century (56 off 34), there were scintillating knocks from David Miller (46 off 22), Abhinav Manohar (42 off 21), and Rahul Tewatia (20 off 5) that propelled the Gujarat Titans’ total to 207/6 in 20 overs. Hardik Pandya, though, managed only 13 runs today.

GT’s total proved too much for MI to climb down and eventually, in their bids to play attacking shots, one by one the Mumbai batters perished. Rohit Sharma scored just 2 runs today and was dismissed, caught and bowled, by Hardik. With this win, the Titans move up to the second spot in the points table with 10 points, same as CSK.
