T20 World Cup 2022: Decoding Finn Allen’s Stats As He Surpassed 500 T20I Runs

The T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 opener kickstarted in a blockbuster way for the New Zealand cricket team as they defeated Australia in the opening game of the Super 12 on Saturday, October 22. New Zealand’s young opener Finn Allen announced himself at the T20 World Cup in style as he assaulted Australia’s best bowler Mitchell Starc in the very first over of his first World Cup game. Allen made his T20 World Cup debut memorable by smashing the Australian bowlers to all the corners of the ground, catching the hosts and the defending champions off guard pretty early.

After taking down Starc in the very first over, he smashed a  boundary off Josh Hazlewood in the next over and did the same to Pat Cummins, what he did in the first over. He smashed a couple of fours, a six in that over, and a six in the following over bowled by Marcus Stoinis and New Zealand was able to post the score of 56 runs off 4 overs.

Finn Allen stole the show with his surreal talent. Finn Allen scored 42 runs off just 16 balls. His stunning knock was laced with 5 fours and 3 sixes. With this knock, he went past 500 runs in T20Is and played an invaluable part as NZ racked up 200/3 in the first innings.

Partnership with Conway:
