The Indian cricket team is all set to take on England in the second semifinal match of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 on Thursday at the Adelaide Oval. However, ahead of the much-awaited semi-final clash, the Indian side received two back-to-back injury scares. A day after Rohit Sharma got injured in the nets while batting, Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli also suffered a similar fate.

Yes, you read that right. Virat Kohli, who is currently leading the list of leading run-scorers in the ongoing marquee event, was struck on the groin by a delivery from Harshal Patel. Following this, Virat appeared to be in pain after taking a blow, and later he left the nets in pain. The video of him getting injured and cribbing in pain went viral on the internet.

However, as per various reports, there’s nothing to worry about Kohli’s participation in the team’s next match as the blow wasn’t serious. On Tuesday, before Kohli, Indian captain Rohit Sharma also got injured on the forearm during the practice session. He too left the field for a while, but he soon came back and ended the session on a positive note.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is in some terrific form right now. He has emerged as the best batter not only for India but also in the entire tournament. He is currently the leading run-getter in the tournament, having scored 246 runs at an average of 123.00. So far, he has scored three unbeaten fifties in five matches, and he is expected to play a big role for the Men in Blue in the upcoming semi-final match against England.

Talking about Team India’s T20 World Cup 2022 campaign, the Men in Blue began their campaign by registering a win against arch-rivals Pakistan by 4 wickets. The team later went on to win a game against the Netherlands before losing their only game at the hands of South Africa by 5 wickets. The Indian side finished at the top of the table with 8 points, after registering back-to-back wins against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.
