The Biggest Reason Why RCB Haven’t Won An IPL Title Yet: In the match against Mumbai Indians, Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal stitched an incredible opening partnership tonight as they propelled Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to a brilliant 81.
Aaron Finch was the more belligerent one of the duo as he hammered a blistering 52 off just 35 balls, an inning that comprised 7 fours and 1 six. Devdutt Padikkal was reticent until Finch was in the middle, providing him ample support and punishing the bad deliveries.
This was the second fifty partnership stitched by the duo as they also carved a painstaking 90-run-stand in the opening game where Padikkal went after the bowlers.
RCB’s average opening partnership: 38.3 runs
Now, this is something extremely new to RCB as until this edition they have only managed to average a standard 38.3 in the opening partnerships while chasing they have averaged woefully low with the figures citing 24.8.
In fact in the glittering history of the tournament and average antiquity of RCB opening stands, they have only managed to stitch 7-century opening partnerships until now. A figure which is glaringly low vis-a-vis the other franchises has always come back to haunt them.
With Padikkal and Finch taking charge, things are now changing. As Kohli keeps on struggling to find his form in the tournament, Bangalore will be heavily reliant on the likes of the remaining top-order to inflict considerable damage upon their opponents.

Can Finch and Paddikal do it for the RCB in IPL 2020?
Aaron Finch has brought an impressive legacy along with himself which has seen him attacking the bowlers and anything that has been marginally haywire from a good length has been condemned.
Devdutt Padikkal, on the contrary, has been phenomenally barring the Kings XI Punjab game where he departed for a solitary run.
A lot will be expected from this duo going forward if RCB needs to set things right in order to mount a title challenge.
