While some young talent got handsome paycheques at the IPL auctions, some big names went unsold. Some of the greatest international players who have earned hefty reputes in T20 cricket went surprisingly unsold.
Even these unsold players would make a great team. This team which we would like to call the ‘IPL UNSOLD XI’ can take on any good looking side given the elements of it.

In T20 cricket openers hold the key. To set big totals or to chase down stiff targets, you need your openers to give you good headstarts. We all know what Martin Guptill is capable of. He has a double century in ODIs and also a T20 century to his name. Martin Guptill forms a perfect opener.
Hashim Amla has staggering figures in T20Is as well as the IPL. He scored two centuries for the Kings XI Punjab in the last season and was just phenomenal.

All Rounders
All-rounders hold the key in every format. Every team needs to have at least two good all-rounders who can turn the game on its head. This team also has two great all-rounders in James Faulkner and Irfan Pathan.

Bowlers
Irfana and James Faulkner can bowl their full quotas of 4 overs. So this team needs to have 3 more mainstream bowlers. Lasith Malinga is an obvious choice given the fact that he is the leading wicket-taker in the IPL. Steyn makes the other pacer with Adam Zampa being the spinner.
