The Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore are gearing up for the upcoming second leg of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League, which gets underway from September 19th in the UAE. RCB had a great run in the first leg of the league as unlike previous seasons they kickstarted their journey with a brilliant note. In the first leg of the league, RCB won 5 of 7 games and they are currently placed third at the points table.

RCB will begin their campaign in the 2nd leg of IPL 2021 with a match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi on September 20. As fans are waiting anxiously for the tournament to begin, the franchise has released an alternative jersey ahead of the tournament.

Yes, Royal Challengers Bangalore players will don a blue jersey to pay tributes to the frontline workers for their selfless contribution to society during the COVID-19 pandemic. The blue color of their jersey resembles the color of the PPE kits.

On Tuesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore via their official Twitter account confirmed the news. This isn’t the first time that RCB will be seen in a different colored jersey. They have sported a green jersey in the past, to convey a message for environment conservation.

“RCB to wear Blue Jersey v KKR on 20th. We at RCB are honoured to sport the Blue kit, which resembles the colour of the PPE kits of the frontline warriors, to pay tribute to their invaluable service while leading the fight against the Covid pandemic,” RCB said in a statement.

Here, check out the Tweet:

Earlier, RCB had announced this discussion during the first leg of the IPL 2021 but before they could implement their decision, the tournament was suspended mid-way because of the outbreak of COVID-19 within bio-bubbles.
