New Zealand’s new sensation Ajaz Patel is currently on cloud nine after he achieved an unbelievable 10-wicket haul on Day 2 of the second Test against team India in Mumbai. He achieved this rarest of the rarest feat as he ran through the Indian batting line-up and ended with figures of 10/119.
On Day 1 of the ongoing second Test match, Ajaz dismissed Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer before he returned to complete his 10-wicket-haul by sending back Wridhhiman Saha, R Ashwin, Mayank Agarwal, Axar Patel, Jayant Yadav, and Mohammed Siraj on Day 2.
The cricketer joined an elite club of bowlers — Jim Laker and Anil Kumble — who have claimed all the 10-wickets in a Test inning. He became only the third bowler to achieve this feat. The last bowler to achieve this feat was India’s legendary spinner Anil Kumble, who did the unthinkable in a match against Pakistan in 1999.

Ajaz Patel has taken the cricketing fraternity with a storm. He has been receiving praises from all the corners for his incredible performance.
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team, who are known for their incredible display of ‘spirit of the game’ made a heartfelt gesture towards the Kiwi bowler. After the end of Day 1, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli, along with head coach Rahul Dravid and sensational bowler Mohammed Siraj went to the New Zealand dug-out and congratulated Ajaz Patel for achieving this rarest feat.

In fact, India’s opening batsman Mayank Agarwal, who was the only cricketer who could deal with the dangerous-looking Ajaz Patel throughout the first innings, was also seen hugging Ajaz after he achieved the milestone.

Talking about the game, the Indian bowlers put on a stellar show and bundled out the Kiwis on only 62 runs. The New Zealand cricket team will come out to bowl again as India has successfully managed to not enforce the follow-on. India will start with a huge lead of 263 runs in the second innings. The Kiwis will look forward to bowling India out quickly.
