India’s Test skipper Virat Kohli is inspiring many young boys and girls to play cricket. Kohli is arguably the best batsman in world cricket across all three formats of the game. With 1215 runs in Tests and over 2500 plus runs across all formats in 2016, Kohli was a standout performer for India. Kohli batted with a lot of consistency and class in 2016. Apart from Kohli’s batting, there was one more thing that stood out; his fitness. Kohli played tirelessly for India in all three formats of the game and maintained a very good fitness level throughout the calendar year. Cricketers across the world praise Kohli’s fitness. South Africa’s ace batsman AB de Villiers also praised Virat’s fitness and handwork during a match in the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League.

While speaking to ebb.co.uk, Virat Kohli revealed that Portuguese football Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Real Madrid Football Club in La Liga, is his inspiration. Kohli also said that he wants to emulate Ronaldo’s work ethics.

“I take a lot of inspiration from Cristiano Ronaldo. The way he has stayed on top for so many years, it’s nothing but down to hard work. I have heard he is the most hardworking footballer in the world and that’s why he is where he is. Messi is a freak (genius) but this guy (Ronaldo) is giving him run for his money because of his hard work,” Kohli opined.
