India vs Australia 2017: Former Indian captain MS Dhoni made a visit to JSCA Stadium in Ranchi and the media started speculating the reason behind his visit. Some media houses reported that Dhoni was there to look at the pitch ahead of the third Test and provide some input to Team India and Virat Kohli.
However, the curator of the JSCA stadium SB Singh played down MS Dhoni’s visit, saying it had nothing to do with the upcoming contest between the two teams.
“When he’s here, he often visits the stadium for fitness work out and spends long time at the gym. Today was no different. He also saw the wicket and we had an informal discussion. This is not unusual for me,” SB Singh told NDTV.
“He has never intervened in pitch preparation in the last four years. Being such a great player, I always look forward to his inputs on the quality of wicket,” said Singh.
“The pitch will suit both the batsmen and bowlers and will definitely last five days,” Singh told NDTV.
It will be a historic day for the Ranchi stadium as it will be making its maiden bow in the longest format of the game.
