In the second T20I of the ongoing series between India and England, Team India wore black armbands as a mark of respect to Indian U-19 trainer Rajesh Sawant, who was found dead in his hotel room in Mumbai earlier today and Mohammad Shami’s father Tousif Ali.

Rajesh Sawant was a very hard working trainer and he had helped many cricketers to know more about their body and set bigger fitness goals for them. Rajesh was loved and respected by Team India cricketers and support staff. Team India wore black bands on their arms as a mark of respect to Rajesh Sawant.

BCCI’s shared this news on their Twitter account:

Rajesh was found dead in his room in the most tragic circumstances. When he didn’t turn for a training session, staff members started looking for him until he was found dead in his hotel room. Rajesh was a very experienced coach. Before taking over as the trainer of the India U-19 and India A teams, he was part of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. Rajesh also worked with the Afghanistan cricket team. He was also present during the Irani Cup where he worked with the Rest of India team.
