In this day and age of T20s, batsmen like to clear the ropes and hit sixes. While sixes entertain the crowd, they can be risky. On the other hand, fours also give a good reward, and they are much less risky than clearing the ropes.

Good batsmen can always thread the gaps and clear the fielders in 30-yard circles to accumulate boundaries. This is the reason, in the big daddy hundreds we see a lot of boundaries. In this articles, we will look at the batsmen who hit most four in an ODI inning.

5. Martin Guptill – 24 fours vs West Indies

Martin Guptill double century CWC Quarter Final

While New Zealand was the favourite coming into the World Cup quarter-final vs West Indies, knockout matches can be tricky. Kiwi opener Martin Guptill put his team into the driving seat after launching an assault on the Caribbean bowlers.

Guptill scored 237 runs in just 163 balls in an innings which included 11 sixes and 24 fours. His unbeaten knock helped the Kiwis post a huge total of 393 on the board. West Indies tried to chase the total but the target of 394 was too huge, as New Zealand won the match by 143 runs.
