10 Best Tweets On Lord Shardul Thakur’s Thumping Cameo

India’s star cricketer Shardul Thakur once again managed to steal all the limelight as he played a hot cameo against South Africa in the ongoing 2nd ODI match of the 3-match series. India’s Shardul played a sublime knock to help the KL Rahul-led side post a target of 287 runs.

Before the game kickstarted, the Indian side won the toss and chose to bat first. The Indian side started on a shaky note as Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli fell in quick succession. But KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant formed an amazing partnership of more than a hundred runs for the third wicket to bring the momentum back to the side, completing half-centuries in the process.

But soon wickets bundled again, as Pant, Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer fell within a short span of time. India’s ship was then steadied by Shardul Thakur and Venkatesh Iyer. While Iyer was stumped on 22 but Thakur went on to play a stellar knock.

Shardul Thakur remained unbeaten for India as the lower-order batter stole the show with his bat by smashing a quick-fire 40 runs off 38 balls that included 3 fours and 1 six.

Interestingly, in the ongoing series, Lord Thakur has scored 90 runs from 81 balls without getting out in the ODI series against South Africa.

From 188-265 in the 1st match and from 207-287 in the 2nd match. Man scored 90 runs at the s.r. of 111.11 so far in this series and hasn’t gotten out even once. Shardul Thakur is just built different.

Given his form, I can see Shardul Thakur being promoted in an ODI sometime soon.

If he bats in the top 4-5, Iyer and Iyer can bat in the slog overs.

I think CSK promoted him once (it did not work).
