Gautam Gambhir Slammed Virat Kohli’s “Panic” Captaincy: The Indian cricket team had a great day at work on Day 3 of the ongoing third and last match against South Africa, until Dean Elgar’s dismissal was overturned by the third umpire.

For the unversed, Dean Elgar’s LBW decision was overturned by the Decision Review System (DRS) and created a controversy. The drama began when Ravi Ashwin trapped Dean Elgar in front of the stumps. The umpire, Marais Erasmus also had no hesitation and ruled Elgar out. However, the Proteas skipper went upstairs for the review.

Though initially, it looked like he has been caught dead in front of the stumps, but the replays confirmed that the ball was missing the stumps and overturned the decision of the on-field umpire. This took everyone by surprise including the umpire. The Indian players were angry with the decision and were clearly not happy.

Virat Kohli, who was looking calm and compose, suddenly was seen in a panic mode and was seen making unnecessary remarks and gestures toward umpires and Proteas players.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer and World Cup hero Gautam Gambhir, who is one of the commentators in the ongoing series was unimpressed with the Test skipper. Gambhir slammed Virat for his aggression and questioned his behavior during the last session of Day 3. Unimpressed with the attitude of Virat Kohli, Gambhir said:

“There is no need to behave in such a fashion as DRS calls can go either ways. Since that decision, Virat has lost his composure and runs have come easily,”

Talking about the game, team India was dismissed for 198 runs in their second innings. Chasing 212 runs, Proteas ended the day on 101 runs for 2.
